About 300 people, including
Konishiki kids from 1997 to 2006, their parents,
friends and supporters, as well as Waianae
Community representative and local media, celebrated
10-year anniversary of Konishiki Kids at Konishiki’s
house in Waianae Coast on February 10, 2007.
 A spacious Konishiki’s house was filled with lots of people soon after the party started.
Konishiki Kids were happy with their reunions and also always surrounding Konishiki and enjoyed talking to him.
Local musicians, Taimane Gardner, VAIHI and other band joined in the party to celebrate 10th Anniversary.
Taimane Gardner’s performance captivated a lot of audiences, and also Konishiki’s wife Taupou sung a song with her beautiful voice. Everyone seemed to be surrounded by Konishiki's warm heart and Aloha.
At the middle of party, Karen Awana, a representative of Waianae Coast, gave Konishiki a congratulatory address and talked about her aspiration to improving the education system in Waianae Coast. 
Konishiki Kids: Keone Tacca
Afterwards, Konishiki gave a strong speech to Konishiki Kids, “Every time you fall, stand up, wipe it off and keep on going.” His strong message touched everyone’s heart, and they showed a bond of Waianae community. Also Keone Tacca, the first generation of Konishiki Kids, gave a speech. He said he want to be a teacher and back to Waianae. It proved that this foundation is certainly giving an splendid influence on people in Waianae community.
Konishiki Kids 10th Anniversary party made an expectation of a great future of Konishiki Kids and Konishiki Kids’ Foundation.
We are so glad to see that each Konishiki kids has their dreams and they are trying to make their dreams come true.
We hope they won't forget this great OHANA(Family) and they won't give up their dreams! |
